I feel like I can’t relate to a lot of leftists online a lot of times so I made this post to just kinda shoot the shit. Anyone have some stories of rural life/annoyances with the online and generally urban left/anything really?

I’m just saying if rural folk weren’t red scared to hell and back we could be commie as fuck. Everyone in my podunk ass town basically owns the means of production because every fucking business here is self owned self operated. If we collectivized :stalin-shining: we wouldn’t even really need to change hands or anything. Just let farmer joe keep farming, the mechanics keep mechromancing, and the civil servants servering.

love my rural life of rugged independence that would be impossible a million times more difficult without monthly costco runs and earth-killing fossil fuels made cheap by imperialism

Driving through back roads and seeing fenced in areas that used to have cattle on them with “For Sale” and “Lots” signs. The old farmers are cashing out and trying to get their retirement before they die broke.

Coming back into my hometown on one of the highways, we have a slightly different situation in that a number of large properties are now under the ownership of a single ranch. At least they aren’t building subdivisions that far out yet, but I’m sure the owner is some ghoul(s) from Houston or Dallas just trying to park their money.

Even in my short 19 years I’ve seen so much of the farmland here join the endless suburban sprawl. When I was little my neighbors were a kangaroo and a goat, now that area is a subdivision

I’m a c*ty dweller but whenever I find myself in a rural area, just fucking looking at lots of trees and grass feels like relief. I enjoy some things about the city but it does wear you down and make you feel disconnected from nature.

funny i feel the opposite. as a city/suburb dweller when I moved to a rural small town for two years it was the most isolating lonely place Ive ever lived. I respect yall who can do it for sure!
