I can’t help but think the leaders of Western nations just kinda decided the damage forecasts to our nations are gonna be relatively minimal and so we may as well continue leading the world in emissions anyway. Not like the global south can do anything, especially once shit gets really bad for them and all we do is tighten border security in response.
