Man people make fun of dudes like this but this is probably the least environmentally-damaging way a westerner can live
If I live like this but at least have a bed frame am I exempt from being sexist
having depression is a masculine trait. it’s just guy stuff. not having deep friendships and wanting to kill yourself means you’re succeeding at being a man.
People are opining about the validity of the room set-up, but the type of sexist bullshit in the title is really harmful: *Women are too superficial, too spiteful, too attention- seeking to be supportive of a man taking pleasure in simple, pared down things. Women’s lives revolve around men, so any women would have a strong opinion about how my room is. Women are incapable of experiencing contentment from having only what you need. *
Like there is bitter divorce guy sexism, but this is worse. This is a young guy who could be exploring new kinds of emotional intimacy with romantic partners (or friends, sexual partners, etc) but has been taught to compulsively think of women as non-human entities, incapable of human joy and therfore wanting to prevent him from happiness as well.
○"(Of course his psyche is so obsessed with women he imagines how awful they would be during a purportedly solitary, happy moment lol)
As a (gay) woman, I can’t tell you how infrequently I consider men, like, at all. I interact with my male coworkers and that’s about it.
The dude in the post says that women hate how he can be happy with so little, but then goes on to say that he doesn’t deserve a bedframe in a self hating manner? So which is it lol, are they happy or self loathing? Also the mattress on the floor like that looks super uncomfortable, as someone with back problems I’d rather sleep on the actual floor than do that, it’s probably more comfortable
Nothing wrong with a mattress on the floor, really no different than it being on a box spring or platform bed. I did it for like four months when I was going through my divorce and my back was none the worse for wear.
See my other response to traingang in this comment thread for my weird reasoning:
Yeah mattress on the floor would be fine for 99% of people. Just for me with a degenerative back disease it won’t be fine and I’d rather just sleep on a hard floor at that point. Don’t ask me how that works, if I knew I wouldn’t be in also much pain all the time lol
