I’m surprised Jack Ma was stupid enough to walk into the gulag like this.
He’s made a couple of statements about Ali Baba as a command economy, and given his rather cordial stepping down from CEO was under the impression he’d cut a deal where he gets to keep his neck and his cash and the CPC slowly nationalises Ali Baba with his support.
If I was him I’d have gone overseas, poured a reserve fund into offshore investments, and spent the rest of my life very loudly praising the CPC while making sure to never set foot in China again.
