Sorry about being late this week comrades. I forgot it was monday yesterday so thats my bad.

Last Week’s Thread

Started week 3 over again. I thought about moving to week 4, but being very out of shape and overweight I didnt want to hurt myself in a bad way. How about you guys? Any successes/failures/stories from this week?

Also, to spice it up Ill ask what music everyone listens to this week! Last week someone said they listen to the CTH podcast while they ran, which I thought was really cool. I listen to a lot of EDM and Punk while I run, both get me in the mood. How about you all? Anyone listen to anything weird while they run? Any freeform jazz sprinters?

A day late? You’re fired :thicc-trump:

Thanks for posting this, it actually has kept me a bit honest. I was about to skip my run yesterday, but wanted to have something positive to say here so I went for a run last night and it was actually really nice (even though it was super cold) since a ton of stars were out.

As far as the music for when I run, I try and use one of the “bpm” playlists on spotify that is close to a pace that I want to keep. If I listen to something too fast when I want to go at a slower pace I always end up going too fast and tiring out.

No problem! It keeps me honest too so I force myself to run before I post it.

BPM playlists are a good idea. Ive never used one but Ill probably try one in the near future! What BPMs do you tend to use?

It depends on the pace I’m running at. I did one called like “climbing mountains 140-160 bpm” today for low level my intervals and I had to skip a lot of super generic edm but it had some great like 00s pop on there in between.

Nice! Sounds like a solid tempo

I would highly recommend anyone who is new to running or even a seasoned vet to try the guided runs on the Nike Run Club app. They’re free and have some pretty good coaching.

I listen to EDM exclusively, mostly Radio Wonderland and Phoenix Radio. You can find them on podcast apps if interested.

Sounds like an interesting way to train! Ill have to check it out.

Niice. Do you have any favorite artists or just stick with radios?

I typically just stick to radio mixes just so I don’t get distracted with picking the perfect song for the moment and I’m not the best playlist maker. I like to leave it to the pros.

Favorite artists are: Said the Sky, Allison Wonderland, San Holo, Illenium, Porter Robinson, Big Gigantic

Most of those end up on the mixes though. They’re all pretty mainstream EDM.

I’m also very late to this thread, but glad to hear you restarted week 3 rather than pushing it. Hope the body is still going okay!

I’m personally a no-music runner, I spend my entire day being blasted at by electronic devices (much of that is my own fault), running is my time where I can force myself to properly disconnect.

Anyway it’s been beautiful running weather over here so it’s been good! And I went back to my first “post”-covid parkrun on Saturday, didn’t expect much of a crowd back yet but there was at least 150 people there. So good to get back to!
