From what I understand, in Japan there was an anime about a raccoon and it led to raccoons becoming a popular imported pet because everyone thought they were so kawaii.
Anyway when they reach adulthood they turn into huge assholes and fuck everything up so a bunch of people released them into the wild and now they’re an invasive species running around knocking Japanese trash bins over all night
Well they have tanukis natively but now they have an the American raccoon as an invasive species chillin with their big balled cousins

raccoons are the only thing that make me wish i lived in america
they are so adorable
my mind is reeling becasue it has never occurred to me before that not everywhere has raccoons
Europe gets hedgehogs, North America gets raccoons, it’s like Pokemon Red and Blue
And I’d let you. I actually caught one in the act but I couldn’t stop them, it was just so damn cute. MFer was savouring it, it was a sight to behold
