I half agree with you OP. The modern 24/7 media that we have is unusual and theoretically, our brains are not meant to know about events that happen 1,000 miles away from us, and genuinely be stressed or angry about them. It is legitimately bad for your mental health to consume too much information. However, things are always going to happen, like the other commenter said, and people are always going to want to know about these things.
