Obviously not the most important political act of 2020, that would be the Indigenous people barricading the rail lines and bringing Canada’s economy to its knees, and politicians certainly have done worse in 2020 because Canada regularly sells huge swaths of land to corporate power for pennies on the dollar.

But this is the biggest scandal in terms of media attention, and I found the episode pretty entertaining. It’s about a very, very popular for profit Canadian charity that the PM of Canada was involved in for over a decade and gave millions of tax dollars to (and tried to give $900m more in a COVID relief bill). Turns out the charity is more than a little fraudulent and does some very sus things. There’s strong capitalist contradictions and you get to see the douchebags crash, burn, and squirm.
