The film was literally associated with autism speaks. Like even my clueless ass halfway across the planet in the middle of fucking nowhere knows that autism speaks is a terrible organisation, how tf did Sia not know this?
Also in the film they use the phrase “special abilities” instead of disabled. Can it get any worse at this point.
I mean, most people don’t know that. Hell, I’m neuro atypical myself, and this is the first I’ve heard of it.
Yeah but you didn’t decide to make a movie about autism though. So it’s understandable that you wouldn’t know that. You would think someone making a movie would do the most basic research on the subject matter, but apparently even that’s too much much when it comes to movies about neurodiverse and disabled people.
