So… I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover up the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But most damning of all… I think I can live with it… And if I had to do it all over again… I would. Garak was right about one thing – a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha Quadrant. So I will learn to live with it…Because I can live with it…I can live with it.

I sort of wish it wasn’t so context heavy so anyone could appreciate such an amazing story but I don’t know how you could make it work without so many years of establishing context.
I watched it on its own before I watched any Star Trek.
I think it works as a standalone. It’s not as good but it’s still great.
For about a decade I had only watched some TOS and the movies and TNG. After finally checking out DS9 five or six years ago I have literally not spent a single day where I don’t watch at least one episode of star trek. I watch all of DS9 and TNG at least three times a year
