A childhood friend of mine, when he got old enough to vote, made his first choice based 100% on aesthetics. He felt that right wingers were generally dressed better. Met him a few years ago and now he’s the most unabashedly neoliberal person I’ve ever had the displeasure of talking to irl. He stayed on his trajectory, I suppose.
