Yeah, all of the methods that come to mind by which a bomb could put out a fire across that kind of distance are pretty devastatingly problematic in terms of their effect on wildlife and human beings in that zone. If this thing like displaces oxygen, welcome to the Era of countries bombing and killing their own civilians to save money on addressing climate change consequences.

In the rich person scenario I wonder how much the poor person has after the 10x multiplication?

My best friend hit a rough patch in his mid 20s, developed a pretty serious depression, lost his job and moved back in with his parents. About 6 months after he noticed a pea sized lump in his neck that grew in size pretty rapidly.

My friends and I passed the hat and raised money for a doctor’s consult. The doctor he saw suggested about 7k worth of imaging and tests. My friend was too ashamed to admit to the rest of us, that he needed so much more money and basically lied saying the doctor said everything was fine. Within about 3 months, the pea was the size of a softball. Ironically, he ended up going to the ER about 4 times during this interval, where they would promptly send him home having done nothing but send him thousands of dollars of ER bills for the total lack of services.

Eventually, an ER doctor finally signed off on doing the proper medical imaging and biopsy and he was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma. He died about 3 weeks later.
