Hot poorly thought out take, but maybe it’s because the basic idea of self-help is kinda a bit reactionary in the first place. The whole thing is usually comprised of individualistic solutions (often esoteric) or changes in lifestyle one can make, to a wide variety of problems.

Like why would you need a therapist or a (financial/mental well-being etc etc) safety net, or a empathetic community, when you have YouTube videos and my personal self help guide available for only $49.95 at your local retailer.
