Can anyone help me identify a CTH episode? They were talking about a Jeffrey Goldberg article about conspiracy theories, and they were basically like, “Fuck you. You sold the Iraq-WMD narrative, which was basically the biggest conspiracy theory in our lives.”

I’m pretty sure it was over the summer, but I can’t remember if it was a regular episode or a Patreon episode.

Yeah. Honestly it probably has more to do with the affordances of the site design itself combined with the weird (but relatable) faith in *something big” happening (regardless of what that something is). That strange mix of memes, impending doom, and occasionally decent analysis just reminds me of the r/cth megathreads (especially during the primaries and start of COVID).

I love it—even if the politics are kind of off.

I don’t know if this says something about chapo, about WSB, or about me, but those megathreads are like the closest thing I’ve found to r/cth megathreads since we got shut down. Like, fuck stocks and everything they represent, but shoot that chaotic hedonism straight into my veins.
