Does anyone know what the deal is with George Gascon in LA? Conservatives are acting like he’s pretty much legalized all crime, which I assume is made up bullshit, but I also assume he’s probably a liberal. Looking him up, I can’t really find any straight information that isn’t reactionary drivel saying that he has absolutely stopped prosecuting all crime (which I know for a fact is false… obviously).

Is he good? I assume if he’s pissing of reactionaries, he can’t be all bad. There’s a big recall campaign in LA against him though

It can be pretty annoying that some people drop weights from like 6 feet just cause, but I’d rather that than some rule about noise level for weights or something. I would also rather someone drop weight than injure themselves

Since you’re outside the US you may not be getting the same news as us, but there’s been what feels like a mass shooting every day for the past few weeks now. I’ve noticed it since like beginning of May time-frame, like every day or every other day I’ll hear about another mass shooting. There was a string where like 6 days in a row there were mass shootings. And tbh it used to be a weekly thing, usually on Fridays, but it’s been way more recently

Get rid of contact sports? Meh I don’t agree sorry. I loved playing contact sports as a youth

Tennis definitely is snooty but there’s really nothing wrong with the sport - you can also play it into later life fairly easily

Motorsports are great imo. Simracing is very fun, and that has gotten me into watching motorsports, which are very fun to watch. If ultimately everything moved over to electric though (looks like it will in the coming years), that would be fine.

Motorsports though ultimately don’t burn a significant amount of fossil fuels compared to the larger population. I don’t see why it should be banned now, we should focus on changing infrastructure
