This looks like a great collection of things that are exactly what I’m looking for and I’m surprised I never saw this mentioned when I was looking for things.

Just a question. It says it’s built around KDE. Will it work right on vanilla Debian without jumping through many hoops? I can get around quite well in the Linux world but some things still make me stumble.

I’ve heard only good things about world building games like Minecraft but I personally never could really get into it. Maybe I’ll give it another shot. Thanks!

I guess this is going to need the use of a mouse and so not suitable for the TV setup. But my child likes paint programmes so I’ll figure out the best way to let them explore this without messing with my laptop. Thanks!

I’ll have to read up on what you mean using IR remotes to control a Pi through HDMI HEC. The computer I’m using has an DP output that I’ve used an adapter to feed to my TV HDMI. So I may not be able to use your setup. But it sounds novel and interesting so I would definitely like to learn more. Thanks.

I’m setting up a media PC for my TV using refurbished hardware. The biggest pain right now is controlling the interface. I got one of those cheap keyboards with trackpads but they stopped working in a month. Reading this post makes me wonder if I can reuse one of the old IR remotes lying around in my home. Generating shortcut keys and binding them might be easy but what can be done for text/voice to text input?

Sites like Anna’s library should permit users to flag books without OCR and permit users to submit OCR version of the books.

If they are not copyright material, upload them on YouTube and make the videos private.
