Especially in small towns, such as this, there’s only so many places to shop. It ends up happening more than we like to admit.

Good to know those workers probably arent being left to completely fend for themselves, theres a protocol, and its being followed.

It was just a weird way to report a situation like this.

So, how did they even find this guy? Are they preemptively testing people for the flu? Did the guy go in for pink eye and they just decided it was the flu instead because he was around cows presumed to be infected?

I’m not trying to deny the situation, it’s just that there seems to be some missing info, here.

Both. My family lives out in the county. There’s no rules as to what is supposed to done with the land.

So…They clear cut it. They’ll leave a few small scraggly oak trees which will mostly all die in a year or two. It’s horrible. They turn a beautiful forest into a dry desert in a week.

They’ll misquote a local rancher, spout misinformation about certain species of trees to justify their horrible land management practices.

And then wonder why the area has less water and is getting hotter.

It’s funny how, in my area at least, the HOAs are always stopping people from wanting to plant, and the people who can plant want to make it look like an HOAs wet dream.

Apparently Bangor maine has a big outdoor backyard, is probably relatively cheaper than other places along the east coast and is supposedly pretty lbgtq friendly.

Although that is not south of Maryland. Nevemind.

So, I wore a mask for my protection and for the protection of others. And I maybe tooting my own horn, but I feel like others only did so because I was so fervent.

I had been following the situation in China starting in the last couple weeks of December. I dunno if those videos at the beginning were real or not, but I didn’t see many people refuting them, source wise. The videos of when they started welding people into their Apts, and dissapearing the citizen journalists that had taken video of inside the hospitals had me on edge. When the videos started comming out of south korea and iran, and the first cases started popping up in california, I started making preparations. By the time it really hit europe and new york started getting bad, I was as prepared as I could be, considering the circumstances. I made sure family members had gone to get n95 masks from home depot, and were loaded up on hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes, before they sold out, but, in my opinion, they only did it so I would stop hounding them.

I was considered an essential worker, and the industry I worked for ran through lock down. The majority of the people in my office would continue to go to meetings, internal and external. Only me, and one other person (i think) took it seriously. I live in a deep red state and even the company owners were pretty skeptical of the whole situation. I think i was lucky the owners came from california (so they were used to being a little more sensitive to other people’s beliefs) and were educated enough to not completely blow it off. Company covid policy was enacted. It was reasonable and was actually pretty strict if you got sick, but I honestly think that the only reason people in the office put on their masks as much as they did, was because they didn’t want to hear me complain when they went to clear their throat.

I continued to wear my mask for almost a full year after the mandates ended, due to temporary health issues, everyone else dropped them at the first chance they got. I still carry a mask with me, just in case I need it, though. I’m not the only one that deserves consideration, and if I wander into a place where someone needs protection from me, I am prepared to give it.

So how many people wore a mask because of fear of repercussions? Im going with 97%… although it does occur to me that I’m still writing this, mostly, from the same self oriented view as all the rest of those people that wore masks out of fear.

I connected Bluetooth to my car, and first thing it asked was if I wanted to allow access to my texts, call logs, and contacts.

I admit, i think I did it once. It acted like it didn’t work. Idk. It periodically still asks though. It doesn’t do this if I connect my phone to the car through Andriod Auto.

These are pretty much the words I’ve heard spoken. Especially when there’s a lack of a support system / a support system you trust to help raise the kid right. The fear of permanently screwing up some poor soul is real.

I think stability is a pretty big factor too. It’s not just owning a house and having a job that pays the bills. It’s about being in a place where you feel able to really give the kid everything they will need, emotionally and monetarily, in the long term. If one can’t count on a job to see the humanity in people, or even pay a living wage, how can they trust that their employer won’t let them go if their “metrics” go to crap, or that they wont just drive them insane. It’s nice to think you can leave the baggage at the door, but I’ve definitely been employed at places that have permanently changed me as a person, and not for the better.

Obviously, everyone has their own reasons for not wanting a child, but, at its core, it’s our screwed up society and what it demands from us, with so little of a return.
