I have a definition of fascism I’ve picked up from talking with y’all. Would appreciate feedback.

Fascism is a response to liberal capitalism in which the centralization of capital and a fall in the rate of profit has produced a subclass of downwardly mobile petty bourgeoisie (I’ve seen these people called lumpenbourgeoisie). This subclass opportunistically puts on a show of aligning with “the workers” (usually a racialized subset of proles) and unseats the entrenched bourgeoisie, redistributing their wealth amongst themselves, and importantly, not the workers they sided with previously. This bourgeois subclass then continues the capitalist exploitation of their predecessors, but ramps up preexisting elements of the superstructure to heighten oppression within the system. It is liberal capitalism without the mask of humanity. This ramped up superstructure is what people typically associate with fascism, but is different in every culture because all societies have a unique superstructure.

This seems to fit well for Italy, Germany, the USA, South Africa, and Israel. I’m curious to know if it’s accurate for Spain and Portugal.

NGL as soon as I saw it was foster kids, I believed it immediately. The amount of abuse foster kids face in the US is harrowing. Even if this one isn’t true, this shit happens. But this reeks of a cover up to me. They prosecuted the accusers for perjury and threw them in jail

126 dB without hearing protection is instant, irreversible hearing damage. Even with really good hearing protection, exposure for longer than an hour would cause permanent hearing damage.

For anyone who doesn’t know, not only can you lose your hearing from quick bursts of loud sound, you can also lose your hearing from prolonged exposure to ambient sounds which are less loud. The dB scale is logarithmic, which means that a 10dB increase is usually considered to be twice as loud. This gets complicated quickly, but that’s the rule of thumb.

Some hearing loss is temporary. The sound may come back to normal volumes in a couple days. In most cases, at least some amount of that hearing loss is permanent. These are OSHA’s guidelines on how long you can be exposed to a given dB level without hearing protection:

• 90 dB - 8 hours
• 92dB - 6 hours
• 95dB - 4 hours
• 97dB - 3 hours
• 100dB - 2 hours
• 102dB - 1.5 hours
• 105dB - 1 hour
• 110dB - 30 minutes
• 115dB - 15 minutes
• Anything above 115 dB requires hearing protection, even if employees are only going to be exposed to it for a brief time

And frankly, OSHA’s levels are lenient. They focus on preventing permanent damage. If you’re listening to Spotify at full volume (~100dB) for longer than 4 minutes, you’re probably experiencing some form of hearing damage. If you’re listening at volume for more than 2 hours a day, you’re experiencing permanent hearing damage.

I think the point of it is to include some sort of material base in the definition so that avoid the vagueness of the cultural expressions there. But yeah the class character stuff is probably too narrow. But I also can’t think of a counterexample

I still remember before Pizzagate had coalesced into a single narrative, there was a lot of virtual labor being put into amateur research on child sex trafficking. And maybe I’m misremembering or just wasn’t on the “right” parts of the internet at the time, but that Comet Ping Pong attack happened and suddenly everyone who was following these email leaks and digging through them also seemed to believe this one very specific interpretation of everything. The libs and normies thought that “Pizzagate” meant stochastic terrorist who makes up fake basements. And iirc that movement later coalesced into QAnon, which is definitely an op of some kind.
