I mean the logic doesn’t matter much if people don’t agree on the fundamental intuition that animals are part of the moral community.
Being a moralising debate nerd isn’t going to really help animal liberation.
No animal is going to sacrifice themselves for the cause of socialism. Veganism is not a prerequisite for socialist organisation.
At best a socialist society would require us radically changing our relationship with the production of food. But I have a hard time imagining that would ever translate into a society that is completely vegan.

One of my favourites right now is spicey Chinese potatoes.
You peel some potatoes and slice them very thinly. It helps if you have some sort of grater for this. Let those slices soak for about 5 mins in some salt water. Then start frying the potatoe slices until they are fork-tender. Then add some chopped scallions, chili pepper and garlic, fry for a couple minutes. Meanwhile whisk up 4 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons (rice) vinegar and a little sugar. Throw it all in the frying pan, give it a good mix and voilá.
You can also make a version with shredded potatoes. Tastes great warm or cold.
I can imagine believing that anarchism is the only right socialist system, I just can’t imagine believing it has been successful.
You peeps have any suggestions for cheap and tasty bean recipes beyond chill saus or some taco and beans combo?
I’m a glutton so I like that chopsticks force me to eat more slowly and savour each bite more. Also prevents me from eating too much of the spicey stuff at a time.

I don’t think the problem is that Dore is an old white man. The problem is that he’s kinda a misogynist and he doesn’t know what he’s talking about half the time. That would still be true if he were 20 years younger.
Edit: also, forcing an m4a vote has been given way too much attention for the very minimal gains it offers, which is completely separate from whether Dore is involved or not.
