Eh, it’s hit and miss, could be percieved as imperialist action, could be similar to how english is important in high placed jobs, in my Moldova it was a big problem, as peasants and lower class citizens were cut off from their connection with local politicians. I havent fully decided on wether its terrible or not, but tend to lean to being bad as it started in imperial russia and just continued after rejoining soviet union.
I heard an argument that goes like this: where else would you find a relationship if you spend all of your time working? The opposite side is that if isnt reciprocal it becomes awkward, or if there is pressure because of rank it can become dangerously sexual assault
I was reading David Graebers Debt and had a thought: Sex work is inherently involuntary. Most prostitution as in selling your body for money or survival appeared together with the poor and rich divide and with people getting into debt and being forced into the profession. Prostitution was not a voluntary profession even in ancient Babylonian times. Babylonia actually had prostitutes next to sex positive temple workers that did it because sex for pleasure is divine, and not for the money (although the line between them blurred with time).

Why not just acknowledge that even though it may not be the leading force behind a movement, minority policies and demands should be an integral part. Without explicitly including such elements there is the risk of minorities remaining oppressed even in a potential socialist project.

Food wars is more liberal meritocracy shit I’d say. I think the whole rich kids school has one single proletarian super genius is more liberal propaganda of “if you work hard you get to be in the rich kids club”. Still enjoyed it but by season 4 kind of dragged on. Same thing with Kaguya love is war, working class genius works hard, has a part time job and they even made the dad a deadbeat drunk. To save money they refused all fun in the family. Still fun series.
