This doesn’t work if you are banned as it prevents you from logging in. Being able to log in and not post is a more user friendly banned state and would allow them to delete their account themselves.

Side question, deleting your account or purging a user would delete all of that users comments correct?

Air conditioning costs have been ridiculous this year. I have had to both run it for longer and electricity costs more.

I find it really difficult to believe there is any benefit to him buying and killing Twitter for billions of dollars. It would have to be extremely contrived and possibly a really well kept conspiracy.

Even before Twitter was purchased it was in a really delicate balancing act of profitability. Any misstep that seemed slightly too much had advertisers and users leaving and the opposite meant Twitter couldn’t make a profit. Perhaps anyone purchasing Twitter would tip that scale with anything they tried, but Elon here instead of walking back his decisions when they don’t work keeps doubling down.

I agree that is a really valuable position to be in, but you would still need to maintain your reputation or else they could all leave. The website itself is mostly insignificant and its popularity has everything to do with its reputation and userbase.

I think you will need to make the transition from negative nihilism to positive nihilism.

Aside from that I don’t think I’m really convinced that interpreting the quantum wave function collapse when observed as the world not being loaded when you aren’t looking at it is accurate. Even our best explanations could likely be a misinterpretation of what is really happening.

I’m not convinced it is as intelligent as people are making it out to be. What most people in the media are referring to as AI are actually complex language models. This technology seems incredible to me, but I am wary of using it in anything that is of critical importance. At least not without being thoroughly reviewed by a human. For example I would never get into a car that is being driven autonomously by an AI.

Also this is just a random personal opinion I have, but I wish people would stop referring to AI unless they are referring to AGI. We should go back to calling it machine learning or more specifically large language models.

Isn’t the main goal of being a student to learn things? Personally I find this more important than any kind of certification that a school could give you.
