Shrug. Just blowing off steam

A manager I had once told a woman we worked with her son was autistic because of vaccines. She’s spent most her life working as a tropical research scientist and was only there part-time post-retirement because she still had her grown-up highly autistic son to look after. It was one of the most awkward moments of my life.

Very good no argument here. I just think in rhetorical terms for my own convenience, I’m not looking to contradict theory just for the sake of that. For instance any appeals to commonality is just connecting dots. I’ve never seen those arguments be very effective.

For example saying that migrant workers are “just like you!” is less effective than pointing out that unrestricted access to the job market is by design to cheapen the value of labour.

I wont budge on the premise that lumpens are anime nerds in their mothers basements but I will accept that the other end of the personality scale are just as if not more common. There’s a generation of lumpens who stand to inherit a significant amount of wealth but are socially isolated.

All good takes in here. Mine is that because education is the only real power structure the left control. Not in that we control the apparatus but physical reality does, and reality is our greatest ally. Universities even as profit mills are still a doorway to understanding reality through any sort of objective analysis.

Disenfranchising the educated is the only method to stop them becoming detractors of the capitalist state, and even then ehhhhh they still do. I’ve got a friend who’s a biologists who’s incredibly intelligent but “hates politics” as they put it and defaults to being a lib… but with their takes on society being biological, evolutionary, anthropological ect, they’re always very close to supporting communism…because obviously profit killing everything on the planet is not a good evolutionary outcome.
