This is an older article. In the meantime, China did overtake the US in life expectancy.
Also, IIRC, even if you compare it by wealth, the American 10% richest live less than other “developed” countries 10%. It’s like the whole country is cursed.
Funnily enough, many Swiss believe Parmigiano-Reggiano is a counterfeit of their own, they claim even older, Sbrinz cheese.
Germans are again pushing the “6 guys in decrepit sailboat did the Nord Stream 2 sabotage” story and the libs are all worked up about it.
There’s a new twist…it’s hinted that otherwise useless and incompetent Russians were able to perfectly stage this incredibly complex and risky operation to blame the Ukrainians…
I once posted a slightly lib article on how an idiot ancap CEO of Sears ran the company to the ground with dumb libertarian ideas and also some Chomsky’s critique of US imperialism. Got perma banned the next day…
I mean, I thought we should be intelligent enough to read lib sources if they offer some kind of valuable insight and just filter out useless lib opinions, bad takes ourselves…I guess I was wrong lol.
Sorry, it took me a while. Here it is: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/economy/column-this-is-what-happens-when-you-take-ayn-rand-seriously
My grandmother in Eastern Europe came from a wealthy aristocratic family but was a communist and gave up willingly all the lands and property.
45 years later corrupt anti-communist far right nationalists took power, canceled socialism and just divided it all up between themselves and their cronies…
Wasn’t there an article just the other day, about Indonesia creating the de-dollarisation task force?
They are fast…
As someone who lived in socialism and now have pretty decent living standard in a capitalist country with one of the highest standards of living in the world, I can tell you I enjoyed socialism far more. Even at the worst of times.
There is something special about not seeing a homeless person ever in your life, then visiting supposedly rich capitalist countries and being shocked by all the people suffering in the streets.
