Took me like 8 weeks before I started feeling better. Way I looked at it I only then started feeling what I had been putting my body through all those years. Before I would just double down on the poison when I started feeling shitty. Now, almost five years on the wagon I don’t miss it anymore. I always said I was planning on having a drink again after my daughter leaves home (she’s five years old now), but I’m beginning to really doubt if I’ll ever really want to again. Anyway, this isn’t about me. Just thought giving some personal narrative to the “It gets better” might help. Hang in, Comrade. It really does get better. 07
