If they were honest about the entire operation it would be pretty catastrophic. The people who did the killing itself would be dead by now, but not their immediate collaborators in what I guess you would call the coup government.
There’s just so much stuff down that rabbit hole. It would re-frame the last 100 years of American history as something akin to crypto monarchy.

It really started with soundwave. Like he’s the coolguy in the evil empire who’s always pregnant, but the babies are his friendpets who help him out. It’s the best americans can aspire to. Everybody wants the babies, they just don’t want human babies. I mean soundwave didn’t pop out little versions of himself and if he did it would’ve been stupid. In the technohell future where you can give birth to anything that dog will be your actual child, he will live in your ribcage.

The show got a lot of this when it was running since the hacking aspects attracted techbros. It isn’t even that the show doesn’t have attempts at sympathetic right wing people in it, it’s just that when it would do something like a hero fbi agent she would also be gay so she’s an honorary leftist to them anyway.
