I’ve been thinking a little about this too, and an idea popped into my head yesterday, “forgive the enemy as you defeat the enemy”. Mercy can be positive, but mercy without justice is weakness. Forgiveness is something we do for ourselves, to release pain. We can forgive the enemy for being brainwashed, blind and scared, and still fight them.
