One Outs for Baseball (not your usual sports manga, more of a psychological thriller)
Hikaru no Go for Shougi (MC is young but he’s fighting professional players, like a young chess prodigy fighting Magnus Carlsen)
I haven’t watched much new movies in 2023, among those though my favourite would be Across the Spider-Verse.
I loved ISTV and expected a lot coming in to ASTV, but watching it blew me away and exceeded everything I could have imagined.
Animation, and the music was awesome (I still listen to the soundtrack today).
What was that throw in Game 2? Infernal Soul with 4k Gold Lead at 29minutes.
I stopped watching when I saw HLE get Infernal Soul and was surprised to see Gen.G 2-0 during Game 3 when I got back. Watching the highlights, that Baron throw was atrocious.

This was clean by Viper in Game 2 dodging the feather point blank.
Personally I’ve only read two of his works. Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom) (1951) and Black Jack (1973) and I think it was decent. I think there are a lot more better manga right now but I believe his works paved the way to what we currently have.
I started this mangaka discussion with Osamu Tezuka because what better way to start than with the God of Manga himself; and I’ve been eyeing to read some of his works like Nextworld.
