I was quite lucky to see an i’iwi when I went to Kaua’i Hawai’i. Unfortunately only a couple hundred left because of avian malaria.

I’ve always liked thrombophlebitis. Not happy when a patient develops this, however

I use Zotero, which is open source, and sync it between my devices using syncthing. I know this may not be considered self-hosted by some, but it does put you in charge of your data.

This was a really nice tech review! I think she took a sensible approach and didn’t bog it down with advertisements for new features no one cares about.

I use Greek yogurt and a bit of honey. Eventually you may not need the honey if you are trying to reduce the added sugar.

I find the texture is better if I let the muesli sit in th3 yogurt for 30 mins or so

I have met multiple people from across the USA who specifically learned about “the fertile silt of the Nile river delta.”

I’m a big fan of the weather app wX for US people. It is a no-frills NWS data explorer, with a great radar and widget. It doesn’t have the look of a modern app, persay, but the data are all there and very clear. (To get to the meteogram, long press on the radar widget on the home screen. I found this by accident, but am very happy I did.)

I thought you are supposed to install extensions through the web interface, not the command line

I do not think it is appropriate to talk about any details, but something somewhat adjacent to this is that a lot of my colleagues didn’t go into pediatrics because they hate dealing with parents.
