cosign everything above! I had to start with a HORRIBLE card (lots of student loan debt) but slowly ended up with something better. I unfortunately don’t use a credit union, which isn’t so cool, but I do get good rewards and free travel all the time. but in all honesty, just take what you get, use a spreadsheet (I don’t even budget, just track everything coming in and out) and voila! you get credit score
as long as you use it like a debit card (don’t spend more than you have and autopay the whole amount every month) you should be okay. the issue comes up when you actually use it like a super high-interest rate loan. avoid that debt at all costs! (I know easier said than done)
well, it depends on your source relationship and is sort of grey-murky waters, I would personally never do that to a recurring source, or someone that I have a good relationship with. in a way, that continuing journalistic relationship is itself part of that contract of mutual respect. I know that sounds like wishy-washy, tbh it kind of is. but if someone sends an email out of the blue blasting you with the headline “OFF THE RECORD” its not off the record. tbh I don’t think that is super controversial among journalists in the US.
I was a big history nerd, and when my fifth grade teacher said that the mexican-american war was between spain and america and the spanish-american war was between mexico and america, I went off and printed out a bunch of information online to prove him wrong. he never responded to it.
lol I got the same response. lukewarm on gun control?
