He was indeed disgareeing with and responding to worse and largely right wing takes in that essay. Still, I’m afraid the way he’s being summarized here is revisionist if you read what he actually wrote. I found it in the Marx Engels Reader (“on the jewish question,” as correctly pointed out above). It’s very mild antisemtism, especially contrasted against the right wing takes he was responding to, but it’s still there.
Well, its really not about the practically of form in cases like his. That giant dome is more than likely meant to be seen from thousands of meters away, and with the forced perspective from the road it probably looks insane. I was more impressed with what Speer did with, say, the vertical spotlight beams he used at some famous Nazi night-rallies, where the beams are invoked to recreate/reinforce the rhythm of the classical style and extends it upwards into infinity until they completely disappear. As pure visual phenomology, it was kind of genius. Reminded me of some Hogwarts dining hall shit.

Sorry to report Marx unironically did have some troubling antisemetic takes. They never got baked into any of his best works, like Capital, but I’m reading some of his young-hegelian era shit and shortly thereafter I believe he goes on at some length re: the jewish question
Tldr Marx is cancelled
