I was a vocal shahid advocate for months – when I heard about the allegations, I followed up on google and, to my frustration, could not find sources on what was specifically being alleged. I know I shouldn’t have thought this way, but kinda like others are pointing out, it just struck me as a conveniently timed smear campaign against the leftist running against Pelosi.

reading these pieces though, I have no doubt the allegations are legit. been in relationships with multiple partners who were assaulted, and the detail with which Croyden paints their interactions (location/time, who else was there, visceral images about facial expressions or bodily contact) – that is not shit people just make up. and the implied idea that some DNC op paid Croyden to nuke the campaign or something, or that these are just spiteful people accusing a perfectly good candidate, is not only ridiculous, its highly hypocritical given our deference to Tara Read.

it is a god damn fucking shame we don’t have someone to take on Pelosi. pretty sure shahid never had a chance anyway, so thats some small consolation. time to infill the void he leaves with someone who can raise the bar a little higher. we need that if we’re gonna take Pelosi’s district from her.
