And right now I’m ok with telling men to not pay for something they don’t want. If you don’t want the child, you shouldn’t be forced to pay.

I don’t think anyone should be able to sue for child support if the other party didn’t want the kid. Just get support from the state.

Men still do that, don’t worry

Yeah I know, so let’s have a support system in place. Maybe if there wasn’t such a burden for support, those men might even be involved positively in the kid’s life. Our current system right now is just creating all sorts of negative incentives to just dump the kid.

Which is why I’m suggested a more revolutionary option of full on child support, no means testing or any of that.

Any kind of greater structural analysis is always “useless to the topic at hand” if the initial framing is narrow. So sorry if I’m trying to contextualize something within a bigger framework. It’s not like any other people have done that before…
