The Microsoft Surface headphones have a spinning dial on one ear that allows you to set the specific amount of ANC you’d like.

They have an app, but it’s only used for firmware updates and changing the action button. You don’t need the app at all ever if you don’t care about those.

The ANC was not as good as my Sony’s, but I can’t change the ANC on the Sony’s without an app.

Fully anonymous account, purchased with crypto, has a warrant canary, open source clients, regular server audits to verify no logs, relatively cheap, fast, works on all my devices, VPN bypass for things like steam, killswitch, and a choice of VPN protocols.

It also has multihop, but that’s just a gimmick.

If a movie was shot in 3d and the CGI was designed in 3d and the movie was produced for 3d I’ve generally enjoyed them (Avatar, Gemini Man, Alita Battle Angel). If however the 3d is produced by an off shore sweat shot rotoscoping a 2d shot then layering everything over a parallax background that’s an immediate pass.

I’d love if there was a 3d movie distribution app/platform for VR headsets though. I had to buy the 3d Blu-ray release of a movie, a PC Blu-ray drive, Blu-ray ripping software, then render that to a stereoscopic player and set a VR app to copy my desktop in stereoscopic mode just to watch it. That cost like $100 for a movie, and it seems more people have a quest or some shit then ever had a 3d TV.

While not a “Windows program,” Ninite allows you to queue up and download a lot of the most common software installs you’d make after a fresh install.

In terms of actual windows programs, I quite like “Everything.” It’s basically a database of all the files on your computer that allows for near instant searching.

“Space Sniffer” is an excellent utility for finding what takes up a lot of room on your drive.

“Unidentified flying raw” is a free program that allows the manipulation and conversion of raw picture files. I use it before editing in Gimp, but if you have Photoshop, it’s not necessary.

“Dark Table” is an acceptable free light room alternative if you have the patience. It’s pretty slow though.

Popularity doesn’t absolve them of genocide.

As long as Link remains a silent protagonist and asexual twink, I’m down.

They’re hoping to get a day and a half or so out of this thing? I’ve a Garmin Venue 2 that will last more than 2 full days with heavy use (6+ hours of GPS mapping) or about 2 weeks with no manually triggered activities. When it’s low I just charge it when I take a shower and it’s good. I absolutely would never use a watch that was designed to both track my biometrics regularly and require daily removal.

I grew up watching my government wage endless wars based on lies. I watched them funnel billions of dollars to Israel to prop up their militaries in a desperate bid to win the domestic Evangelical, pro-apocalypse, Zionist voting bloc. I watched Israel lie about their military actions, their hunting of journalists for sport, their regular leveling of hospitals, schools, apartments, and places of worship. I saw the blockade, the forced settlements, the casual abuse toward Palestinian people. I watched as the world came to consensus on many issues–my country and Israel excepted. I watched as my country bends over backwards to support Israel and to cover for their misdeeds. And now when a group in Palestine is once again fighting for their freedom people seem to think it came from nowhere and fully support Israel as they engage in collective punishment, and widespread murder.

This is not the fault of the Jew or the Palestinian.

This is the fault of the government of Israel and it’s allies.

Hamas’ actions are brutal and unacceptable, but entirely predictable, and Israelis retaliatory response is disproportional and genocidal.

I’m not on Tiktok, but I’m not remotely surprised that young people are being weary of the lies their government has told them their entire life and are standing in support of a people under apartheid being hunted by a genocidal leader.

War absolutely is hell, but that is not enough to hand wave away either side’s actions. Neither Hamas nor the IDF are exclusively targeting government, infrastructure, and combatants. I decry both sides’ lack of restraint and focus, but it is also not lost on me that Israel’s blockade has directly impacted Hamas’ ability to surgically respond. Israel, however, does not lack the means for a surgical response–they have the ability to take out specific involved people without leveling a city block. They just choose not too because they want to kill all the Palestinians from the river to the sea.

I’m inclined to agree that a revolution is inevitable and even acceptable, but I don’t think that uninvolved Israelis are valid targets in the revolution, and I’m not disillusioned enough to mirror the IDF’s justification in saying that all Israelis are culpable animals who should have staged a coup and thrown out Netanyahu years ago. Citizens are not universally responsible for the actions of their government.
