Turkey:

2 prominent left parties, one is social democrats(CHP), other is kurdish democrats(HDP). Erdogan’s party has been winning for 18 years, so social democrats are in a big coalition with a ton of parties, most prominent ones being mild-nationalist social liberals and an islamist party with left-ish economist positions. HDP is excluded from the alliance since some parties in the coalition have voting blocks that wouldn’t vote for them if it was the case. It isn’t that important since HDP gets their votes from specific regions that allows them to put more parliament members more easily. There also have been rumors of them allowing 2 new center-right parties in the big coalition to take down Erdogan more easily.

Social democrats can’t do a lot, since last referendum on presidency gave almost all the power to the president, and parliament is basically useless. They also have been taking in a lot of people with different ideologies, from socialists to center-left liberals. They have a bit of infighting between leftists and mild-nationalists.

HDP’s economic visions are left-ish, but mostly they are focused on kurdish rights. Even though party focuses on lgbt and other minority rights, voter base is mostly opposed to that and would vote for a rightist kurdish party if it existed. Their ties to PKK makes a lot of people hate them.

Communist party is a big meme, but they have won in a single province and people there feel very good about their choice. They have eliminated a lot of redundancies, there is free transport, they have renewed a lot of the infrastructure and utilites are very cheap there(it’s illegal to have them free). Mayor sold his duty vehicle to open a library, created agricultural coops etc. It’s pretty good.

We know how BBC toes the government line, but since it is more the case of “manufactured consent” and not direct control, they get away with it.

Pelosi doesn’t need to do this. Buttar has no chance of winning, 0%. She’s the resistance kween, high profile and loved by dems. Buttar’s campaign was to show that there’s a good chunk of party base discontent with her, i don’t think they ever thought they would win(or it’s a grift to raise profile, i dunno). Risk of Pelosi losing is very low compared to risk of her paying someone to blame your opponent of rape becoming public.

Is there a possibility of Pelosi doing a paid character assassination? Very slim. Is there a possibility of accuser being “troubled person with history of false accusations”? Low.

Come on people, this is another case of “our good friend could never be a creep, he’s never like this around us”.

Buttar isn’t winning comrade, it could be considered if he had a chance but he’s running against Pelosi. No way he wins

In my opinion since Bernie was doing good when he first appeared, he rode the wave and people on Chapo supported him . I was indifferent to it but no harm if he wanted to run a small vanity campaign, bring up some issues to light, right?

Then people started to donate to him and thought that he could actually win. It got very sad. I’ll sound a bit elitist here and show my succdemness but how the fuck did you think a neurodivergent truck driver with public speaking issues, no prior campaigning experience and no formal education on anything that is related to being in congress could win a congressional race?

People started to call him a grifter after Bernie got blown out on super tuesday because everyone lost hope. I still don’t think it was a grift, but i think joshua is not only incompetent, but a huge dumbass.(Unrelated, but holy hell why would you go on a debate with that goddamn neoliberal destiny if you can’t articulate a single policy position)
