Tbh I was seriously expecting a “we did it reddit” moment after seeing the thread identifying the shooter. You’re right it’s a very low bar but still, trying to see the little good in a very bad situation somehow.
I think there was someone in the early thread who exactly said “we did it reddit”, but just to mock reddit ofcourse.
We’re not as bad as the website where every member wakes up and decides whether they’ll hate black people, trans people, poor people, or women more that day.
Don’t forget defending apartheid. r/oldschoolcool literally had to remove a post with 30k upvotes about an anti apartheid protest because so many racists came out to defend apartheid.
Just last week I saw some random comment thread with a few thousand up votes spreading the propaganda that white South African farmers are being slaughtered in their thousands by the indigineous South Africans.
