a Nazi cod would be cool. Imagine you play as 2 soldiers, one on each front from 1940 to like 1945 and you see the downfall of the offensive, all the ppl around you dying, and how crazy nazis were. I do think it would be interesting. At one point the story from the Allies pov has been told too many times, an Axis pov would be compelling if done well
I think the trick is to get away from the European theater. Imagine a Chinese POV game where you have one character with the KMT fighting conventional battles, and one from the CPC fighting more guerilla style. The end of World War II is only the halfway point of the campaign, with the two fighting each other for the second half with tons of imported Soviet and captured Japanese arms and armor.
I think it would be funny as hell if there was a game where you invade poland as a Nazi. Storm through the ardennes and encircle the british at dunkirk. Capture Paris with no resistance. Get super pissed when that RAF guy dropped a French flag on the Arc De Triumph. Get sent to the Eastern Front. Write in your little Nazi journal that the war will be over by Christmas. See all your friends get owned at Stalingrad and turned into frozen Nazi sandbags for your bunker as your healthbar decreases because you are cold and starving.
