It’s playing out today too. When China set out to counter the GN countries at the UNHRC over Xinjiang, we saw that giant coalition of GS countries backing it. Even as powerful and rich as it is today, their identity still belongs to the GS.

They didn’t outright back China but also didn’t join in the condemning though, which is already more than expected considering the corcumstances.
