Gen-X folks are gonna be particularly bad with this, I think. They’ve spent decades enjoying the benefits of white privilege and now that white supremacy is starting to crumble, they’re getting more reactionary.
It has nothing to do with generation though. Zoomers are just as racist as Xers/Boomers provided that you control for race.
Literally the ONLY reason young people are left is because young people are less white (due to immigration after the 1965 act).
If you only look at whites it’s like watching a coelocanth or a ginkgo tree, literally nothing at all has changed over a 50 year generational span.
I’m remembering these stats from about 2 years ago, but the difference between white genZers and white Boomers was a 2% reduction in identifying as conservative. So it doesn’t seem like the property ownership matters all that much in practice.
