I’m not lazy, there’s just nothing worth working hard for
Before I started my own business, I was working for a major electrical contractor. And like I’ve seen jobs go from three years to one with the only incentive being that the contractor would get a bonus. At first, I should mention. The workers would get a $25 gift card while the contractors would get tens of thousands of dollars. Now they played themselves because shit needs to be done in the same time without these bonuses because capitalism being capitalism always finds a way to make money while squeezing everywhere for profit. Anyway I was having a conversation with someone I used to work with and explained this to him because he can’t seem to fill the slots for jobs that need to be done. I asked him “what have you done to keep these workers?” I feel like his brain just broke :frothingfash: and started yelling about how “it wasn’t this way before.” Told him that at least ten years ago when I started at that company that the bosses would at least bring a case of beer on Fridays after they scrapped the copper. Now we get shit. We can’t take copper. Somehow we have to be more “professional” looking while doing nothing for us. These people are out of touch. And it sucks that the only way I can have any sort of control for my life is to own my business. Like that isn’t some shit covered badge of “honor.”
Before I started my own business
:side-eye-1: A business where you’re the sole employee, right?
…right???
