I’ll live and die a boomer about this shit. If this shit catches on before i’m thrust into the labor market from college, I’m gunning straight for a socially essential IRL job like waste management that will take one hell of a grift to move into the metaverse. Fuck web3, fuck digital “assets”, fuck intellectual property, fuck facebook, fuck the entire concept. I have principles surrounding tech and privacy, and unlike my views on the path to communism, I am extremely inflexible on them.

Only metaverse I’ll ever step foot in given the chance is the cool one :reeducation:

I am optimistic. I am of the age that vr still seems like wondefful magic to me. I did a minigolf thing in one and It was what I could only have dreamed of as a child. If that tech means I can just telecommute for bullshit office stuff as well that seems like a win to me.

For it to catch on VR helmets need to become lightweight and cheap. VR helmets now are like cell phones in the 80’s. I could see you making them lightweight and leasing them from Verizon though

They are pretty small now, the ones that we are gonna see in one or two CES shows from now will probably be ski google sized.
