I’m quite the enthusiast of pop music history, with quite the boomer taste in music, so I was interested to hear some thoughts on what was in comrades’ opinions on when the best slop on the radio was.

I was pretty astounded when I found out that songs like “Puff the Magic Dragon” and “If I Had a Hammer” from my childhood were actual radio hits in 62 and 63. Can’t say that’s my answer but it’s a pretty funny one.

For me it’d probably have to be something more like 74-77 with Stevie Wonder, CSNY, Bee Gees, Shuggie Otis, etc. all going on. That early 2000’s acoustic wave, especially with the drum machines, is also kinda charming to me.
