It’s certainly an interesting trend that is, imo, massively important but one that’s happening so slowly under our feet we really aren’t paying attention to it. It used to be that there was no moderation on the internet and you could watch cartel beheading videos as easily as you could cute puppy compilations. Tech giants have tried to stay out of that lane for a long time only policing things like nudity and violence, but recently there’ve been more and more calls for them to step in and police along political lines or to stop disinformation. Libs feel fine with it because they’re used to pleading to institutional power to make bad thing go away but clearly the real end result will be the wiping away of leftism from the web rather than anything except the blood lustinginest of chuds

Losing liveleak.com was a big blow. You could watch the news days or weeks before it got reported. Al-Qaeda in Syria was posting videos of them firing Javelin missiles which they only could do if the US was officially supplying them. USA supporting Al-Qaeda, yup, that happened.
