Eh, the US military really cleaned up its act after Vietnam. The requirement that all soldiers be volunteers did a LOT to fix problems. Instead of resentful personnel, they got people who actually wanted to be there. Compare this to any workplace you’ve been in where people hated it vs. liked it. It’s night and day.
