Yeah… while it’s still not certain, it’s looking more and more likely that Russia is just gonna take, or turn into republics, a solid 25% of Ukraine’s land area (Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Kharkiv oblasts). Add on Mykolaiv and Odessa oblasts for the coastal coverage (and to landlock Ukraine) and that’s a third of Ukraine gone, solely because Zelensky and his US handlers couldn’t fucking abide by the treaty they themselves agreed to.
Maybe it is a hot take but I think Russia should continue to press foward and get whatever is necessary to achieve piece by force.
If you want to blame someone blame the nazis that are killing their own civilians and making negotiation harder, blame zelensky for being a delusional idiot making stupid demands, blame NATO and the western population for elevating an extremely poor and hopelessly outmatched country to the status of a martyr who need to fight to the death to defeat Putin Hitler.
It is absolutely clear there isn’t going to be peace unless Ukraine loses more and more territory, you know the saying if there is anything the US is winning with this war is successfully fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian. They’ll get their wish and it will be entirely their fault.
Russia already tried to compromise with just the two republics + neutrality way back in march and they refused. Tough luck but I don’t feel any sympathy whatsoever.
I have a hunch that the only thing that Russia can do to bring Ukraine to the negotiating table is to follow a sibylline strategy in which they claim a new people’s republic every time the ukros are bullshitting them.
“So you want Crimea backagain? Say hello to your new neighbor the sovereign nation of the People’s Republic of Kherson.”
Why stop now it’s not like russia has to fear sanctions if they go for more plus Ukraine doesn’t look to come to the negotiating table with real demands so, plus holding those regions allows them to keep a landbridge for crimea and ensures that it doesn’t get it’s water cut off.
Openly Nazi states should shrink, especially if the people who live in the affected regions already hold separatist beliefs
It’s even more than that since those regions are higher populated than the western part of ukraine, but I didn’t make a normative statement here I just said there’s literally nothing from stopping Russia to get what they want since there’s been a complete breakdown of diplomacy, the west had one thing going and that was the threat of sanctions but since they’ve pulled the trigger they have nothing left anymore and the Ukrainian government has demands like taking back the LPR and DNR and crimea, so again why should russia stop now and again this war is immoral I’m not saying that Russia should do that I say that they will do that because they probably feel like they can hold those regions and it benefits them because there’s nothing stopping them from taking what benefits them most because that’s what governments do.
