Technically it kinda sorta is? They’re usually made of kevlar, but it’s not nearly as effective as actual bullet-resistant stuff.

I could see it stopping a .22 or a glancing 9mm, but your ribs are broken and your lungs are collapsed. Anything bigger is gonna cut through like butter

Yeah it’d be comparable to ballistic nylon flak jackets, but without the benefits of the solid plates. It’s gonna do something for small or low-energy projectiles, but it’s not much. Might do decent against birdshot, but I wouldn’t be able to put that to the test.
