I’m just filling the void with mental and social junk food
Seems like drug addiction. There are those who aren’t particularly driven to seek out new novel models or whatever vrs those who just settle on whatever video hits their eyes and helps whack off quickly.
Actually reminds me of hooking up with a friend who revealed to me that her last boyfriend, before only dating girls for years, had a heavy porn addiction. Their sex life was in the dumpster and eventually, because she was suspicious, she found out he was jerking it to porn all the time. To note: this girl was very attractive and sexually pretty open to boot. It’s a real problem for some people, and the saddest thing is the strange cooption of the “no-fap” movement
instead of just dialing back the addiction.
To be fair, tech companies spend billions of dollars weaponizing human psychology. It’s idealist to just tell people “hey did you ever think just don’t watch porn/eat Big Macs/spend your free time on social media”
If you’re going to get in to weird mysticism the mysticism where you reveal the eye of god by fucking is better than the one where you become very very obsessed with no fucking.
I’d say it’s a safe assumption that Option 1 is not viable for most of the people who go with Option 2.
