i know he’s like a liberal reactionary and people have posted his shit before but like how he only references marx, engels, and weber as marxists and claims to have debunked historical materialism just infuriates me. also he just says that the church was an non state association that took up some functions of the state and the papacy was an aristocracy of piety. no mention of the institutionalization/beaucratization of religion. god im so tired and just pissed. final things i noticed. feudalism as a result of “voluntary submission to warlords which had no eceonomic incentive to invade deserts or scandinavia but did so anyway,” whenever economic or political institutions were reformed or modernized they faced opposition from entrenched family or kinship groups, abrahamic religions in general are inherently self destructive because they promote equality based on inherently divinity in everyone, oh biggest thing he said that pissed me off: “marxists and historical materialists in general have a very straightforward view of religion, it is [the opiate of the masses]… belief and religion in general as a mechanism of organizing society is one of the main and most important tools and functions by which the first societies came to be.” i am fucking livid i probably could do a point by point refutation but just the fact that he only references marx, engels, and weber (and that he has a book of francis fucking fukaya (and he has a gravestone of communism 1918-1989)) tells u everything you need to know.
