actual fucking title: "Condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s use of a high-altitude surveillance balloon over United States territory as a brazen violation of United States sovereignty "
see see pee bawoon gave me havana syndrome
So…was that a spy balloon? They have the wreckage now, right? What have they discovered? Just regular weather monitoring shit or actual spy stuff?
I’m curious if they’ll ever release the information to the public.
They will likely say “we found equipment that could be used for X”; which carefully dances around the fact that sure, lots of weather stuff could be used for something else…
There no way we’ll know any time soon. I’m sure they’ll lie about it and then down the line when the documents on this whole fiasco are declassified we’ll find out it’s exactly what China said it was.
Can’t China put forth a counter claim? Then atleast we’ll have two differing accounts of the contents of the balloon out in public.
this a government with 5000 nukes that fear mongers constantly about Iran (zero nukes) and North Korea (15 nukes) nonstop.
Who knows. Maybe they’ll say it was spying on our barometric pressure and vital national secrets like the wind speed velocity and current heading.
