Those troops aren’t there to defend South Korea, they’re there to invade
China when the day comesoccupy South Korea.
If US troops pulled out of SK, the state would roll towards socialism like a rock bouncing down a hill.
Chinese business interests would move in and divert trade to the mainland. The SK media would become decoupled from US markets. Korean/Japanese tensions would rise absent a pro-Japan occupation force to keep dissents in check. And the wall between the North and South would crumble, leading to a cultural exchange that would upend a century’s worth of hysterical propaganda.
That’s why we can’t ever leave.
