I’m a very adventurous eater, i normally find something i like in most meals, but i can’t for the life of me understand why PB&J is so widely beloved by Americans. Nothing wrong if you like it… it just doesn’t make sense to me, from a taste point of view.

It’s a kids food. The peanut butter is good for them, and the jelly makes them eat it without complaining. Easy for Mom to prepare, packs easily into a lunchbox, doesn’t require refrigeration. Anyone older than 30 was basically raised on them.

Not any more though. Bring a PB&J to school and get suspended because you’ll send the kid with peanut allergies into seizures.

100% agree. I tried it last week for the first time and I was so underwhelmed. Americans are just so good at propaganda that they managed to turn an average meal into a internationally recognised food.

There’s another one that’s pretty popular in the PB&B&H, the peanut butter banana and honey sandwich.

Sweet and Savory is a classic flavor pairing. What I don’t get is the people who use sweet peanut butter and sweet bread in addition to the jelly/jam.

CW:

cheese

cottage cheese with jam is such an underrated combo though, bread optional but recommended
